모로우 배터리(Morrow Battery)가 이오셀(EoCell)과 협력해 자사의 1세대 배터리를 시장에 빠르게 출시하기 위해 노력 중이다.
모로우 배터리(Morrow Batterie)와 이오셀 주식회사(EoCell, Inc.)는 자동차 산업을 위한 동급 최고의 각형 배터리를 상용화하기 위해서 마스터 개발 협력(Master Development Agreement)를 체결했습니다.
이번 협력을 통해서 세계 유수 전기차 제조업체의 높은 요구 사항을 충족시킬 수 있는 규모로 생산할 수 있는 시장 선도형 배터리를 제공할 수 있게 될 것으로 기대됩니다.
이번 협약은 이오셀의 소재 및 배터리 기술에 대한 깊은 경험과 각형 셀 설계, 생산 라인 설계 및 설치에 대한 전문성을 활용한 것입니다.
본 계약은 재료 선별, 배터리 설계 및 개발, 테스트 및 상용화를 포함한 제품 개발의 모든 단계를 포함합니다. 모로우배터리의 기가팩토리에 1세대 생산라인이 오픈되는 시점에 맞춰 1세대 제품이 완성될 것으로 예상됩니다.
모로우배터리는 2020년 설립되어 노르웨이 남부 아렌달에 본사를 두고 있으며, 43GWh 기가팩토리 설립을 추진 중이다. 이 공장은 이 지역의 재생 가능한 수력 발전을 활용해 이산화탄소(CO2) 배출량이 가장 적은 배터리를 제조합니다. 기가팩토리의 첫 모듈은 2024년 말 가동될 예정입니다.

Morrow Batteries Teams Up With Eocell to Fast Track its First Generation of Products to The Market

Morrow Batteries AS (Morrow) and EoCell, Inc. (EoCell) have entered into Master Development Agreement to commercialize a best-in-class prismatic battery for the automotive industry.
The collaboration is expected to deliver a market-leading battery that can be produced at scales sufficient to meet the high requirements of the world’s leading EV manufacturers.
The agreement leverages EoCell’s deep experience in material and battery technologies, and prismatic cell design, as well as its expertise in production line design and installation.
The Agreement encompasses all phases of product development including material screening, battery design and development, testing and commercialization. The first generation of products are expected to be completed in time for the opening of the first production line in Morrow’s Gigafactory.
Founded in 2020 and based in Arendal, southern Norway, Morrow is in process of establishing its 43 GWh gigafactory, which utilizes renewable hydroelectric power from the region to manufacture batteries with the lowest possible CO2 footprint. The first module of the Gigafactory is expected to be operational at end of 2024.
To accelerate development and qualify its products for key market segments, Morrow is also building an industrialization center. Morrow Industrialization Center will bridge the gap between battery research and high volume manufacturing, supporting the company’s mission to develop cost-effective and sustainable batteries.
Centered around the gigafactory, Morrow and partners are establishing the ‘Battery coast’, a sustainable eco-system built around the battery value chain in southern Norway.

EoCell is developing high performance engineered silicon graphite anode composite products for the most demanding applications and is one of a few companies worldwide that has been able to successfully produce Silicon Carbon Nanocomposite based materials and batteries.
EoCell has capabilities to do material screening work for cell development, electrode formulation design, and any type of cell design necessary to produce a high-quality battery cell.
